Vegan Powerhouse from Down Under

Mike Case is a personal trainer based in Melbourne, Australia. Active in competitive athletics since adolescence, Case learned to love using his physicality and mind to achieve specific goals.

"I wanted to live a life where I worked on my passion and walked what I talked."
While being a vegan Case has tried a lot of different approaches to a plant-based lifestyle. Raw, intermittent fasting, high carb, wholefoods etc. Through the experience of trial and error he had found that a wholefoods plant based approach works best for him. Here he has the most scope to enjoy cooked and raw foods whilst also achieving all of his nutritional needs. Case emphasizes that whole plant-based foods eliminate the need to individually count macros, protein, etc. When eating enough calories all the required protein is provided on a plant-based whole food lifestyle.
"I don't carb cycle as I like to lift and train for performance. Once you take away your natural energy stores - your performance naturally drops and dips."

The good news about going plant based/vegan is there is no need to think like an omnivore to get the desired results. Calories aren't all created equal. He recommends just eating whole foods and retraining your metabolism to work for you and not against you. Even better it also allows for so much variety, boredom is never an issue when eating this way.
"I love all kinds of foods and since going vegan, I appreciate more different types of foods than what I would otherwise. Open your mind up to trying new things and different combinations. If I had to pick a top three - it would be blackbeans, potatoes (of any kind) and red grapes. Yum! On cheat days I enjoy Blackbean burgers and Vegan Pizza. If you can call it a cheat meal! Haha! "

Case typically trains 4-6 times a week. 4 if he is focusing on developing raw strength on heavier compound based movements primarily with a barbell. 5-6 if he is working on bulking up on a split workout scheme.
Case follows some very inspirational philosophies when training.

"Everyday. The competition is life and with myself. What I managed to do last week - I want to achieve better this week. Everyday is a competition between who I was and what I want to become. When the going gets tough - remember why you started in the first place.

In his personal training practice Case focuses on helping his clients transition to thrive on a plant-based whole foods lifestyle to achieve their health and fitness goals. Case offers one on one coaching as well as online coaching.
Beyond fitness Case enjoys music, and art. He plays guitar and drums and loves drawing portraits. He has also established the brand VEGANZ. He is currently producing new merchandise and currently has tank tops available.

"It's one more step to starting the vegan conversation with others, spreading the message of compassion, peace and respect and destroying myths at the same time. What could be better than that?"

Case is very active in Australia's world of Vegan enthusiasm. If you are interested in getting in touch with him in person you might be able to find him at any number of Vegan events around Australia like World Vegan Day in  Melbourne. If you're looking for a personal trainer Case may have some space for new clients.
"To all Vegans, get in touch with me at Vegainz Coach on Facebook and Instagram and I would love to connect with other like minded people. Let's help change the world one mind at a time."
