Toad Style Vegan

Deep in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn this eatery’s name is a reference to the 1978 cult classic martial arts film Five Deadly Venoms. Nestled among barber shops and bodegas this place might be easy to overlook. Within is a funky decor of vintage martial arts movie posters and an old fashioned arcade machine in the corner. Started by three friends, Toad style was opened with the goal of providing quality foods to people in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood at affordable prices. They also wanted to prove that these kinds of foods can be made without using animal products.

Embracing an eclectic kung-fu movie style Toad Style serves plant based versions of popular dishes like cheeseburgers and philly steak sandwiches. Other items include a wide range of healthy and some not so healthy vegan sides like french fries and salads. Many of the dishes include local ingredients and everything is made in house, from scratch. Very popular with many patrons for their reputation of providing fresh dishes. They also serve beverages like kombucha and cold pressed juices. Toad Style proudly boasts themselves as 100% Vegan soy-free, and GMO-free. Even better they are a BYOB establishment.

A truly vegan venue Toad Style offers vegan cutlery made from bamboo and provides animal rights literature by the register. Definitely worth a visit for those who live in New York or are just visiting. They are located at 93 Ralph Ave Brooklyn, NY, 11221, 3 blocks off the Gates Ave [J, Z] trains. Available for take out, eat-in and delivery, check out their website and Instagram and see their full menu.
