Vegan Bodybuilder Garren Rimondi

Garren Rimondi is a competitive bodybuilder and fitness trainer who has been thriving as a plant based athlete. Surviving childhood cancer taught Rimondi that through proper individualized nutrition, moving one’s body, and keeping a positive, self-familiar mindset, anyone can overcome anything. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at the age of four years old he went through ongoing treatment until he was eight years old. Successfully cured in 1994 he has now been in remission for almost 21 years. His experience being treated for cancer influenced his attitude regarding his health. being forever grateful for surviving childhood cancer. He has since been motivated to seek out the best way to maintain and improve his health.

In 2014 Rimondi read the books Whole and The China Study both by Dr. T. Colin Campbell. The book made him reevaluate his eating habits as it showed him how most of the available knowledge about nutrition is all wrong. After being exposed to this information he was ready to make the change to live a life of optimum health. With that he made the choice to stop consuming meat.

After transitioning to exclusively plant-based nutrition he has come to really love it and proclaims he will never eat another living animal again. He has patterned his entire nutrition plan around plant foods.
Since 2013, he has been a personal trainer working independently, and he has also worked as a fitness model. His constant involvement in fitness and bodybuilding lead to his friends urging him to become a competitive bodybuilder. After researching the different local bodybuilding competitions he finally decided to participate in his first bodybuilding show. In 2015 he decided to compete in the Naples, Florida First Annual Naples Sports Festival in the men’s bodybuilding division.
Embracing veganism has benefited all of his athletic goals. Rimondi's experience recovering from childhood illness and his commitment to fitness later in his life have lead him to advocate for veganism.
