Actress and animal
rights activist Pamela Anderson reached out to the newly elected
Mayor of Jackson Mississippi Chokwe Antar Lumumba. In an open letter
congratulating Lumumba, Anderson noted that Jackson had been named
the fattest city in the world.
She challenged Lumumba to become Vegan for a month to set an example for his constituents and all citizens of Jackson. Anderson went on to note the wide range of Vegan dining options available in Jackson, and even offered to provide a weeks worth of catered meals for Lumumba and his staff. Lumumba accepted Anderson's challenge and held a press conference to make a formal announcement.
