Don't Count me out yet; A case for the Omega Juicer

Recently a new juicer, the Juisir, appeared on the market that has gotten the attention of many health enthusiasts who endorse juicing. The Omega Juicer seems to be in danger of falling behind, but before you trade up consider some of the drawbacks of the Juisir.
Primarily all the Juisir does is produce fresh juice, which is great. The difference of juice produced may be a few milliliters more from the Juisir but the Omega has other applications. The Omega can create fresh homemade pasta, ice cream, nut butters and can start the process for creating tofu. The Omega is better at crushing hard root vegetables like chunks of beet, carrots and even ginger root pieces. Also consider the size of the Juisir, it is tremendous. This appliance was not designed with a household counter-top in mind. All that counter space for a uni-purpose appliance, it appears more at home in a commercial restaurant kitchen. On the other hand the Omega is the size of most household toasters and the parts like the feeder tubes and turning auger can be stored away in a cabinet. The Juisir promotes that it is cleaner making the pulp easy to dispose of, though don't forget that very pulp is useful. After juicing carrots the pulp can be used in salads, baked and stir-fied vegetable dishes, used as the base for a vegetable broth, even carrot cake. Also, if more juice is desired from the Omega try running the pulp through a second time.

The Juisir is certainly a powerful juicer that gets a lot of substance out of what it juices but it does not make the Omega obsolete. Also consider that the Juisir company is being sued by the Juicero for infringement of patented technology.
