American amateur boxer, best known for winning the U.S. title in
2008, 2010, 2013 and 2014 and the Golden Gloves in 2009, 2011 and
2013 at super heavyweight is a Vegan.
Awesome has been a tournament-winning machine since going vegan in 2012, and he has now won more medals than any American in amateur boxing history. Claiming that in 2012 he was in a troubled place in his life and desired to make some changes. After making friends who introduced him to Veganism and the potential health benefits he was sold.

After going Vegan
Awesome lost over 40 pounds and notes that he is faster in the ring
than he has ever been before. “I couldn't do this before because it
is impossible to outwork a bad diet!”
After not qualifying
for the 2016 Rio Olympics Awesome is now giving consideration to
another passion of his public speaking. He has recently been doing a
lot of keynote speaking for motivational events. Moreover in a
similar vein Awesome has had success with stand up comedy. Whatever
Awesome's next move is he will he have set a great example for Vegan
athletes.
